Bruno Wipfler

Bruno, our youngest member, was born in Bad Dürkheim in 1994. It took only six years and listening to "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" by Benjamin Britten to convince him that the trombone was to be a part of his musical path.

From very early on, he played in trombone choirs, big bands, and other ensembles, which he underscored by taking lessons from several different teachers from the surrounding area, until he was accepted into the Landesjugendorchester Rheinland-Pfalz (State Youth Orchestra of the Rhineland Palatinate) as the youngest trombonist ever, in spite of his supposed inadequate arm length.

Bruno has been exceptionally successful at competitions, both at the national level of Jugend Musiziert, a German youth solo and ensemble competition, and at the international level, such as the Lions Musikpreis.

Bruno was also a young student in the trombone class of Prof. Henning Wiegräbe at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and is a member of the Bundesjugendorchester (German National Youth Orchestra).
